Who we are
OLMIKAYA is an independent editorial and lifestyle company based in Nairobi, Kenya. Using this site means accepting these terms.
What you may do with the writing
Read it, quote it, and link to it. Quote a reasonable extract with our name on it and a link back, and you need no permission.
Republishing a piece in full, or using our photography, wordmark or design elsewhere, does need permission. Ask — we are not precious, but we do want to know.
Everything published here remains the property of OLMIKAYA or of the writer or photographer credited on it.
The directory
Directory entries describe places we have visited more than once. Nothing is listed because it paid to be, and we do not take payment for coverage of any kind. Entries are our opinion at the time of writing, and places change — check before you travel.
If you run somewhere we have listed and want it removed, write to us and we will remove it.
The letter
Signing up is free and leaving is one click. We may change what the letter contains or how often it goes out; if it changes in any material way, the letter itself will say so first.
Objects
Nothing on this site is currently for sale. There is no cart, no checkout and no payment processing anywhere on it. When that changes, terms of sale will be published here before anything can be bought, not after.
Accuracy, and getting it wrong
We report carefully and we still get things wrong. When we do, we correct the piece and say that we corrected it. Nothing is quietly edited after publication.
The site is published as it is. We do not warrant that it will always be available or error-free, and nothing here is professional advice — not legal, financial, medical or otherwise. Decisions you take on the strength of what you read here are yours.
Links to other sites
We link to places we find worth reading. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they publish or collect.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in substance, the date at the top changes with them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
